Food Hygiene Awareness
Course Aim
The aim is for course participants to gain a basic knowledge of the principles of food hygiene and safe food. It is suitable for low level food handlers such as waiters, servers, bar staff and storekeepers.

- Personal Hygiene Standards
- Cleaning and Disinfection
- EU and UK Legislation as it relates to food quality and safety.
Objectives By the end of the programme, the candidate will be able to: -
- Understand the importance of maintaining good hygiene standards
- Understand about bacteria, and how they cause illness
- Demonstrate knowledge of safe handling procedures
- Recognise the importance of good personal hygiene
Examination Information There is a short multiple-choice test at the end of the course. Candidates are required to correctly answer 15 out of 20 questions in order to receive a Certificate in Food Hygiene.
