Food Hygiene Update

Who should attend?

This course is suitable for anyone who has already achieved a Level 1 (Basic/ Foundation) Food Hygiene qualification within the last 5 years. It has been designed to remind candidates how to work with food in a hygienic manner that prevents contamination and protects consumers from food poisoning. Also, to ensure that they are familiar with the key aspects of current legislation, good practice and food safety issues.

All candidates must be able to bring their previous certificate with them as proof of having qualified within the last 5 years.

Course Content

The following issues are included, as well as any specific business requests you may have:

  • Microbiology and Illness
  • Food safety hazards
  • Cleaning and disinfection
  • Food Pests
  • Premises and Equipment
  • Food Safety Control/HACCP

Duration

The course is of approximately 3.5 hours duration. It can be arranged to suit individual company requirements i.e. week-ends, mornings, evenings etc, and concludes with a short multiple choice test comprising of 30 questions. The pass mark being 20.

Qualification

All successful candidates will receive the nationally recognised Foundation Certificate in Food Hygiene Update issued by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
