People Moving People
People Moving People has been designed for those who carry out Manual Handling of others in the workplace, including medical staff, childcare workers and carers.
This course will highlight the hazards associated with the manual handling and moving of people and will outline practical control measures for the risks involved.
Successful completion will prepare delegates to view their own work activities and introduce safer working practices. The course duration is approximately 4 hours.

Objectives By the end of the programme the delegate will be able to:
- Explain what is meant by the term 'manual handling' and give examples;
- Demonstrate understanding of safe manual handling and holding;
- Explain how manual handling can cause injury and give examples;
- State the principles for controlling manual handling risks and apply these in a practical context;
- Demonstrate a general understanding of the value and purposes of conducting a manual handling assessment and what employees can expect of such assessments;
- Demonstrate an understanding of the main provisions of the Manual Handling Operations Regulation.
